    Interface of Windows xp

After switching from Ubuntu to Linux it is not easy to determine some parts in it. Many things are quiet familiar. I am not able to figure out about the interface of Windows XP. Like the icons what they suggest or what they are used. How to create different shortcuts in windows.

Consider the desktop and Taskbar, the Board represents the largest part of the screen. It contains icons accessible by double click. The taskbar is the strip at the bottom of the screen. It contains commands accessible with a simple click. You can also add the Start Menu. It appears when you click the Start button, bottom left of the screen. It provides access to all programs installed on the computer.

The icons in Windows XP are not present by default. It is preferable to display them. Click to the right button of the mouse on the desktop, and then select the Properties. Choose the Desktop tab & Click on Customize Desktop, Select My Computer and My Documents. The important point first on the desktop are My Computer, My Documents, Recycle Bin. The first one provides access to the contents of hard drive, CD-ROM, floppy drive. My Documents is used to store personal files and Trash contains files that were deleted.

In the Taskbar from left to right the icons provides access to programs and to all in orders. The Quick Launch toolbar allows quick access to some programs. In the central part to select the display window to the foreground. The notification area (right) allows access to certain settings. On the Windows desktop, there are some essential icons. Most of icons that will be added later on the desktop will be shortcuts.
