Microsoft entourage error 17982

Hello everybody,

I have a problem with the Entourage 2004 , I am not able to send messages. Unfortunately I have changed the settings of the Entourage servers, and from then it started giving me error 17982. But now I don't know how to set default configuration for the server. Thank you very much for your answers

The reception is via the POP server specified in the setup of the account (or accounts) used (s). Sending via SMTP server indicated in the same place. In general (for accounts "ordinary") is the ISP's SMTP by which we establish the Internet connection to be used (whatever the POP account used for the account). In some other cases (Gmail, Yahoo, etc..) Must return the special settings (which are listed on pages using the host).

Try the following steps, to remove entourage error 17982 :
1) Set SMTP server address
2) Click Advanced
3) SMTP Service requires a secure connection: unchecked
4) Cancel the default SMTP port: no change
5) The SMTP server requires authentication: Checked
6) Log on using radio button: Selected
7) Username: Your username (not your service provider name)
8) Password: your password (not service provider password)
9) Save this password in my Mac OS keychain: Checked
10) Save and quit and restart Entourage

Try to rebuid your entourage. Hold down the Option key and re-launch the application. In a few seconds, you'll be greeted with the Entourage Database Utility. Select to rebuild. (Note: Compact the database (Like X's "Typical rebuild") Rebuild the database (Like X's "Advanced Rebuild")

During the rebuild process, the old files are renamed in case for some reason the rebuild was not successful and you need to revert to the original database. After you've rebuilt your database and checked the application's performance, you can delete the old versions from your hard drive
