Yahoo Messenger 9.0 installation

I was using Yahoo messenger 8 on my system, but unfortunately i have formatted my machine due to some virus problem, but now when i am installing a fresh copy of yahoo 9.0 i am facing some problem. When the installation begins, it works fine but in the middle, when it is about to complete 67% installation, my system stops responding. i don't whats wrong either with the setup or with the installation process. so i need your help. Please any one can guide me through the process of Yahoo Messenger 9.0 installation. Waiting for the response. Thank you.

Once you downloaded yahoo setup, you need to close all running applications including your browser for yahoo installation. After that, disable your antivirus program because they interfere in the downloading or installation process.
Open the executable file(yahoo.exe) you have just downloaded. Copy the message archive, go to the path given below:

C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles

and now drag/drop the copy of your message archive to the New Yahoo Messenger folder\Yahoo\Messenger\Profiles. Now you can enable your antivirus program. Try this else download the 9.0 version once again or go to the older version.

Well, you can install yahoo messenger by using offline setup. You can get that setup on yahoo website

If you are uninstalling Yahoo Messenger, did you remove the Yahoo folder,that yahoo leaves behind in the program files folder, after the uninstall process?
You should remove that folder with the uninstallation process. After removing such compoents reboot your machine and then download the Yahoo Messenger again.
