I-Ball Mouse scrolls on its own in XP

Help me to control my mouse. I was earlier using a Windows 98 but 3 months back I switched to Windows XP. I was using a Logi-tech mouse which 2 weeks back I changed to I-Ball mouse. Now the problem is that 2 days a go when I was surfing the net, my mouse started to scroll on its own. Although when I moved the cursor it was moving as I moved the mouse, but when I type anything on net my mouse starts scrolling up and down. This also happens while playing games. What should i do ?

I am also a Windows XP user. I also faced the same problem when I used to go online. When I used to login in email account or even surf the internet my mouse would go all over the screen. I had Norton Anti virus installed. But then I installed Avast removing Norton and ran the Schedule Boot Time Scan. Using this I realized that there was a Trojan in my system. So my suggestion would be to have a scan of your system with your anti virus or if your not having Avast then install Avast and run the Schedule Bot Time Scan.

This could be due a loose connection. Check your mouse's connection to your cabinet. Might be the wire is not plugged in properly. Try to shut down your desktop and unplug the mouse and then again plug it in. Now boot your desktop. Check your mouse on some other desktop whether your are facing the same problem.

Hello friends. Even I was facing the same problem while playing games on my PC. While playing games my mouse was either to slow or it would scroll any where. Earlier I thought it was an issue with my PC. So I tried another mouse. It was working fine. When I plugged in my mouse on other PC it was still scrolling on its own. So I realized that it was an issue with my mouse. It was a newly purchased mouse. I checked it out more precisely and it came to my knowledge that my mouse's wire was ruptured at the plug-in end. Check the same with your mouse's wire.
