AVCHD Player to play video

Hi,

I have sony camcorder, i have recorded some movies ( approx 30minutes) with it, but when i transfer it to my pc it wont play the video at all, These videos are in AVCHD format and i need AVCHD Player to play video, or is ther any converter to convert AVCHD to other video format ?
