    LG GSA 5163D gsa-5163d driver

    Hi,
I am using a LD DVD drive to burn and read my disc. Recently I had just removed the drive and connected to a different computer to install windows. The DVD drive was properly working there. The problem here is now that when I connected it back again it is not detected by the motherboard. If I move the cable the drive appears but did not read any of my disc. Any suggestions really appreciated.

Change the cable for the hardware. You can see a broad cable which connecting your DVD drive to the motherboard. Replace it and ensure that you had brought the same type. Place it tightly on the motherboard. Then ensure that the power cord to the DVD drive is connected properly and you can see light on the DVD drive. There are some spare power connectors inside the cabinet. You can put the other one and try.

You will need to update your firmware for your DVD Drive. The issue can be due to your DVD driver update. Click on the below link. The page will direct you to the LG driver and download page. Download the file and run the firmware upgrade. Then check that the drive is shown in My Computer. If not then change the cable for the disc drive.

Replace the DVD cable and then connect the drive properly to the system. Now right click on My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager. At the top click on Scan for hardware changes. It will scan and detect your drive. Then right click on dvd drive and click on properties. In drivers tab click on update drivers. After that restart your pc.
