Programs for making own DVD menu

    Hello,

I'm trying to backup a amount of eps from a tv serial. Got them in .avi and .mpg on my HD. Not that the format matters, but just that you know what i'm trying to do.I tried several programs to create my own menu's in the main menu i want a link to each separate eps.Nero Vision didn't life up to my expectations, can't create any menu you want only the one's you can select from the templates.DVD lab looks a professional tool, but wasn't even available to import .avi files so didn't go on with that one.

Now my question any of you guy's know any other really good tools to make your own menu's for DVD's and may be some of you can give some info on "DVD Workshop" why it needs all that space to make just a 4.3GB DVD with a menu.

    thankx in advance.

PE is an Non Linear Editor, and offers enhanced DVD authoring capabilities. That it offers any is above many NLE's, including its "big brother" PrPro, which requires Adobe Encore is a blessing to most. The creation of a Menu is the domain of a digital image manipulation program. In lieu of PS, the full version, look at PSE, which very often comes bundled with PE. It does lack a few things, that can enhance Menus , and costs less than 1/6th of what PS costs. It probably would be nice if PE contained PrPro, Encore and PS, for the same price, but that is not going to happen. One of the best "deals" is to upgrade from PE to one of the "suites" with PrPro, Encore, PS and AfterEffects. PE is designed for the consumer, who wants "big button" features and enough Templates to do most of their DVD authoring. Since PE offers a lot of Menus, and many can be customized, it offers more than many other NLE programs, at similar price points. Muvipix also has a lot of additional Menus, plus stock footage, to be used, and some of that is free. The rest available for a nominal subscription. The analogy of the auto is not quite right. It's more like saying that MB C-350 is a nice car, but does not come with all the neat things that the S-550 does, and I do not want to pay for an S-550. Adding the PSE program to one's toolbox, is like getting the AMG package for their C-350.

All right Ulead DVDMovie Factory is good application.Which will allow you to make motion menus starting from a frame you select. It will also permit you to remove chapter marks created in the recorder and insert new, then you can set sub menu based on these. The range of templates is not great but perfectly adequate with more available from their site.May be you can try the trial version.

I know there are a few programs that can do this for u, but i can't for the life of me remember the names of any of them. but in the meantime u can try searching for such programs at download.com or else you can convert all your AVI into VCD MPEG-1 using TMPGenc, Cucusoft, CCE..- author a DVD containing multiple VCD movies with DVD Lab [1 VCD movie = 10 MB x length (in minutes) MB ].Automatically you can skip he movies with a simple 'next' button. Or you need a more sophisticated DVD
