Internet explorer 8 fix for no sound

I have a computer which was full of virus infection and i had to clean install Windows XP all over again. I then installed Internet Explorer 8, I had some websites that had lovely flash animations that i used to visit. But i recently found that these sites don't play sound. So i tried another site. But no sound at all... What may be the problem? Can you help me with Internet explorer 8 fix for no sound? Thanks in advance.

Internet Explorer has a feature to block, images, sound and movies from loading and playing on a webpage. This feature can be accessed in Internet Options. I hope you have tried this? Well this is option is not active by default, this can happen only if you have turned it OFF manually.

I would suggest you give a check to the Windows Volume and speakers. Make sure the hardware is running, make sure your windows volume is not on "mute".

Thanks a lot guys, really appreciate your help. Well i just figured out what the problem was. I know you guys will kill me for this, but the problem was with the sound drivers. After Installing Windows XP again, i forgot to install sound drivers.
