How can i protect a workbook in Excel 2007

Hi , i work for an organization for which i had made some important data in Excel 2007. What i need is to protect the entire work book for security reason so that nobody can do anything in this workbook. In short i need to lock this workbook. So could you guys make me know how to do that in Excel 2007 ? Please , its urgent.

You can do it easily but remember it impossible to make further changes to the layout of the worksheets in that workbook. To lock the workbook in excel 2007, follow this steps:-

1. On the menu, go to Review than to Protect workbook on ribbon 'changes' than Protect structure and windows in the drop down menu.

2. Here Protect structure and windows dialog box appears where you can see that Structure check box selected. That means your workbook is protected. You can check mark the Windows check box if you need to protect any windows that you set up.

3. At the bottom of the dialog box, theres is password field. Enter and re-enter the password, to make excel assign a password that must be supplied before you can remove the protection from the worksheet.

4. Now click ok and you are done.
