    Vista Codec Package 5.1.4

The new package of codecs for Windows Vista is a version 5.1.4.
Of course, even if no solution is complete at 100% for playing different video formats, but for the average user. this package of codecs for Vista should allow you to avoid having to install any other codec or filter normally. With the Vista Codec Pack 5.1. You'll be able to use any media player, play DVDs, movies and video clips for any type of file. The streaming video is well supported in all browsers.

You can choose what you want to install it using the public redistributable or for newbies, go through an installation. Thereafter, if you wish, you can choose to remove certain components of the Vista Codec Pack 5.1.4 without removing any codecs.

This new version takes into account the earlier versions and thus, you do need to start by uninstalling a previous version before installing this new version.

For changes to version 5.1.4 of the Vista Codec Pack:
    • Updated ffdshow to revision 2719
    • Update Gabest revision 1004
    • Fixed the problem of memory in the DXVA codec

earlier with 5.1.0 and 5.1.1 ... actually there was NO PROBLEM ... the program is just too metaculous ... so it was trying to clean up my individually installed mess of Codecs.

Anyway "Vista Codec Pack" ... to be Exceptional Codec Pacakge ... and continually updates it and adds great tools to it.

This pack has many flaws. The installer is awful. My recommendation is to avoid this like the plague.
