totally lost data

System: Windows Vista ed family 32-bit operating system 1.73GHz

Most of my documents have disappeared (word document, works, excel powerpoint mainly) and there is a desktop file that was placed on the office in which there is another desktop and so on 4 or 5 subfolders.
I tried to use rescue drive but I can not open a. If you know another way I am taker.

Hello,

Make a Scandisk your hard disk: in Computer, right-click the C: drive, Properties, Tools tab, Check Now button, tick both boxes and click Start.

To retrieve data, uses the software GetDataBack: Recovery of data.

It can also be an infection. Is what you have done a scan with your antivirus updated? Use HijackThis to report and post it here.

Thank you for this information, I have not managed to do the scandisk because the computer tells me it is not because the disk is in use.
Then it offers a laptop I can see no solution for use GetDataBack because we can not use it on the disk or you must recover data. Can I partition my hard to create another drive, install on this drive and software from here??
c disk, I have more data super important to recover and I see no end.

Hello,

For the Scandisk, you said that the disc is in use and ask you if you want the scan is done at the next startup. You have to say yes. Can you restart the PC to do the scan.

As for GetDataBack, you should mount your hard drive with an adapter and put it in a desktop computer to retrieve your data.
