    File Sharing Issue - User Accounts not working!

    The Setup:
    I have been using my server 2003 as a generic file server for media/software etc around the house.
    I have sharing on my D:/ drive set to everybody:read, and administrators:full control. I have my account (Nick) in the list of administrators, along with another account. This allows my computer to automatically use the credentials from my computer to log into the server with admin access, while other users are logged in as guests and given read only.

    The Problem:
    I moved the server from one room to another (still on the same router) and since then it will not let me log on using any accounts when accessed through windows explorer! It responds with bad username / password. However, when i remote desktop the server, I can log in using any account just fine.
    Additionally, if I log in with a random username/password (not one set up in the server) it works fine (just uses the guest account). But there is no administrative privileges.


    I have tried deleting the account and recreating, changing the password, remaking the share, but nothing works. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

    Share access permissions are combined with the permissions that are granted directly to the user and those granted to any group of which the user is a member. For example, suppose the user named jack is a member of mutually the Accounting group and the Administrators group. In a shared folder, jack has read permission, and the Accounting group has altered authorization. For the reason that, jack is also a member of the Accounting group, his successful permissions are Read and Change.

    Thanks for the response.

    The account Nick is in the group Administrators and no other group.

    The share is set to;
    Everyone: read only
    Administrators: full control.

    In security, Administrators receive full control.

    This was working before i turned the computer off to move it. Something glitched out when I did that and now it wont recognize any user account when using windows explorer on another network computer. Like I said in the OP, I have tried different things to get the accounts/share set up again but nothing is working.
