    www.free-virusscan.com

    This is windows Xp laptop which was working good until yesterday night. Today morning when I started the computer and launched Internet Explorer, instead of opening Google.com (my homepage) it redirected me to free-virusscan.com automatically. Even when I type any website address in the address bar manually, it takes me to that site only.

    Apart from this I also received an error message saying “Microsoft programs may have been corrupted”. I tried opening few files and folders but most of them are not opening any more. As the symptoms indicate about infection on my system I scanned my computer with OneCare twice but it wont detected any malware or virus.

    Any idea what is wrong with my system and how can I fix it?

    Alrite, just follow the below mentioned steps and send me log so that I can help you out:

    • Download and execute HiJack This! (HJT)
    • Disable Notepad's word wrap: In Notepad.exe; Format --> uncheck; "Word wrap"
    • Download/run Deckard's System Scanner
    • Save the scan results (Main.txt and Extra.txt)

    Do the following steps, will help u.

    First of all you must delete all these files:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Pune.Admin\Application
    Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\javapi\*.*
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\intefltr.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\systems.txt

    Once done, remove these entries:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\bind "comment"
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\BhoNew.Bho
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\BhoNew.Bho.1
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{4AD3A71E-8ED4-40F5-9A81-69245BDCBB75}
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{4937D5D1-2039-409A-BD83-FEC9B39B2356}
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{CAF9D798-C659-4B9B-8E19-EE27C3D04EE7}
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\TypeLib\{15C7D7AD-A87A-4C0D-9D8B-637FCD3488EF}
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{4AD3A71E-8ED4-40F5-9A81-69245BDCBB75}

    This worked for me after trying almost every free antispyware tool.
