With this Prada Phone 3.0 (P940), LG continues logically into the path initiated at the first two models released in 2006 and 2008. The first appears, therefore, more attractive, with a plastic leather look at the back, containing the pattern of Italian brand, coupled with a front glass which is uniformly black, that only further enhances the Prada logo. It features a 4.3 inch display screen with 800 x 480 pixels and capable to provide a brightness of 800 nits (against about 600 for an iPhone, or 700 for a Droid X2).
The unit is powered by a dual-core processor (OMAP 4430) and 1 GHz with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of flash memory dedicated to storage, which we can increase via micro SD card. Also on the program: a camera with 8 megapixel and flash, doubled in front of a sensor (1.3 MP), WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 3.0, a radio tuner and a chip of A-GPS. All offers relatively contained dimensions (127.5 x 69 mm) with a limited thickness of 8.5 mm. 1540 mAh battery is also placed whose weight amounted to 138 grams.
Beyond the cosmetic innovations and technical configuration, the great (and good news) associated with this Prada 3.0 is the abandonment of proprietary operating system currently in force on this product line in favor of a good old Android, Gingerbread version here 2.3. Unlike some of its competitors, LG has chosen not to add an overlay to the system of its own, but still offers a small refinement in P940, particularly in interface "black and white", that seemed rather successful, even if the icons of downloaded applications on the Android Market are in color.
The terminal is running Android 2.3, but LG promises an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich that will occur in the second quarter. It is now marketed by Orange at a price of 129 euros with a commitment to Origami. Until its arrival on other networks, we can also get it from some online retailers later this month at a price that would gravitate between 500 and 600 euros.
