All the previous articles and fixes regarding deleting and re-exanding NVL files is crap. It doesnt work. In truth on ONE of my computers it fixed the problem for a day or two but it came right back. Here is a real fix for it:

Okay after long last I have found a real fix for the NVLDDMKM.SYS ERROR. I have spent tons of hours reading articles and forums. This is what will work for everyone. I have 3 computers in my house all with different Nvidia cards and different versions of Vista. They all suffered the dreaded nvlddmkm.sys error. But I HAVE A SOLUTION! It doesnt involve changing ram or altering bios. First you need to download a very handy program from here:

PM ME FOR THE LINK AS I AM NOT SURE IF THIS FORUM ALLOWS IT

Its called *****. After you get that program goto the Security than Advanced tab. Uncheck all the security boxes. WARNING THIS WILL REDUCE THE SECURITY OF YOUR SYSTEM. But you have to decide to use my computer or have a useless computer that gets the driver stopped responding error. I promise you this will work. I have ran the program and done this to all three of my computers and they work great !! Now hopefully they fix it so I can put the security back.

By the way I been getting alot of accusations for trying to profit off this solution. So here is the what you need to too. Find these security features in Vista:

-Enable per-user virtual file and registry.
-Automatically trigger an eleveation request for setup
-Switch to the secure desktop to display elevation request for setup programs
-Programs that access other programs' interfaces must be installed to a secure location

and disable them. YOU WILL GET NO MORE NVLDDMKM.SYS errors.

If you cant then I can provide you with a link to some software that will make disabling and enabling these features painless. Furthremore you do not need to reboot each time you disable or enable these features though the software. The company who developed the program made Vista Dreamscene, also they OFFER a TRIAL version of the software. If you do feel like they (company) should get credit for making the software and Me some referral credit for connecting the dots please PM me and I will provide the link to thier site. If not PM me and say I dont deserve credit and I will just give you thier website, and the name of the program. I hope this helps everyone. I know I am so HAPPY now that the NVLD issue is gone. Good luck and start gaming!!

Maybe anti virus software would be a good idea? Then again I guess we could just sit around, wait for Nvidia to fix the problem? Because personally I loved watching my screen flash constantly until it BSOD itself.
