WM Player 11 on Vista Business Will Not Play wmv's; IE7 crashes.

Windows Media Player 11 on Vista Business will not play wmv's (from hard
disk or streaming), Media Player opens, cursor spins, then nothing, no error
message, no audio, no video. IE7 crashes when trying to play an embedded
media player movie on a website, for instance cbsnews.com, cbs.com/innertube
show.

Please advise.

I'm having a similar issue. It will play WMV but they slow down near then
end, then stop. Then it won't play any video or music files at all until
restart.

I can't play any video for more than 3 seconds.

I am having same problem, have built many systems in last ten years, cannot
figure this one out. Need help. Obvious microsoft is not going to.

C00D11D4. MSFT says no solution to this problem. Not having problem with
audio, just the video and IE7 crashes when attempting to view any type of
video file, mp11 will not even display default video files, black screen. Can
anyone help? Msft won't

Who have you talked with at Microsoft? How are they aware of this... ?

That's not a crash - that's an error code - NS_E_WMP_INVALID_REQUEST - "WMP
cannot perform that action at this time". Are you getting a crash or a
failure?

If you're getting a crash, that should let you send an error report to
Microsoft. If you do that and can provide the crash bucket number, I may be
able to provide some insight.

Given what you've said, your video card driver is quite suspect. DxDiag.exe
may be a good place to check too.

I am having exactly the same issue on a newly installed vista home premium.
No video, crash of ie7 when playing embedded video.
I found the bucketID in the error:

352401591.

I would be very gratefull if someone could find a solution.
This system has been sold to a customer. It is now back here in the shop
because the customer cannot play media. If I cannot get it working vista will
go off and I might lose a customer.

Found out it boiled down to an old mobo/graph driver from MS for an Intel
board (DG965SS). Was from 06-2006 or something. Downloaded driver for vista
from Intel from 03-2007, media playback is ok now.
So much for updates from MS update sites for hardware. Does not work, I must
conclude.
