Dungeons Siege 2 works also on Vista, but The Godfather won't run on it yet.

    Battlefield 2 not installing

    Hi all,

Has anyone had an issue installing this game? I have tried unsucessfully as
it tries to install DirectX 9.0c, I cancel that as I dont want to override
the DirectX 10 setting on Vista... Am I doing this wrong?? Your help is
    appreciated.

    That sucks..
It 'Can" work fine under Vista, both x86 and x64. I have had a couple
freezes and crashes..but have also had 20+ hours of excellent playtime under
    Vista..both versions.

Unreal Tournament works like a dream - no compatibility problem whatsoever -
even adds itself to the vista games application!

NFS MOST WATED: Black Edition (DVD) works just fine for me! (Vista 32-bit)

Have you tried using Taskman and ending any unecessary processes? Certainly
    helped me out!
Ending any unecessary resource hogging apps may improve the situation!

I think Vista is running a lot of extra processes because:

    1) I'ts BETA!

    2) Because it's BETA, it needs these extra processes to help with program
    and application compatibillity testing.

    3) Vista-BETA would obviously have all the extra 'bells + whistles' turned
on, to see how these work/run of course.

    4) Any new features not yet seen in any other version of Windows, would also
    be on for various reasons/purposes.

Hope this helps, it certainly did for me and I thought I had a relatively
capable system for running hardware/cpu/graphics - intensive games!

    Add:

NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED: Black Edition (DVD)

    SIN EPISODES: Emergence

F.E.A.R. (Needed taskman to end a lot of unecessary processes in order to
    run!)

Sorry for repeating "F.E.A.R." but I thought the extra little piece of info
    might help others out!

No patches were used in any of the games - straight out of box!
All games were played in the 32-bit ver of Vista.

    Cheers,

    Lee-roy (Australia)

    Add *all* of the following:

    Command and Conquer Generals
Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour (expansion) (includes 1.04 North
    American patch)
    Need For Speed Underground 2
    (all from Electronic Arts)

Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends (Big Huge Games/Microsoft Game Studios)

    Only issue is with Zero Hour (original auto-patcher does not work correctly;
downloading and running patch externally does work); however, this issue is
with Zero Hour itself, and is reproducible in XP as well.

I can't get WoW to work at all. It immediately disconnects me from the log
in server after I type my password and press log in. It worked perfectly
    under XP.

    Bejewelled 2 Cursor Problem

Initially game seems to flicker out the cursor, making it exceptionally
difficult to locate, once located even more difficult to place on button.

Once you can locate and select OPTIONS > Turn on Custom Cursor: then all
runs as smooth and clear as before Vista. Well almost, the sound stutters
and gets out of sync from time to time.

RE: List of Games that work on Windows Vista

The installer on most games crashes or throws errors and locks up, has to do
with program allowance in Vista and IE7.

    I got:

    John Deere American Farmer
    John Deere Construction
    Zoo Tycoon 1 and 2
    Fish Tycoon
    Ultima online AOS/7th/ML
(but UOGATEWAY does toss too many errors to work right for those that play
free shards over OSI) Its all part of testing
    DOOM3
    Unreal
    NFS3 hot persuit
    Baldur's Gate 1 and 2

There are several other games I am testing still if I can get them to
install. Oh and if they are pre XP (then forget it too big of a problem to
even get them to install) if they are set for XP you can work around it by
setting the program default to run in XP mood or dos install (but has a large
habbit of crashing when you do this).

Links 2003 works if you play offline. I can't play online at all. When I try
to host a game, my playing partner gets a connection failed error and if I
join his game, I can get in, but the game crashed as soon as he hit the Play
    button.
