Can USB other than Microsoft be used to connect Hard disk with Xbox?

Friend I have just got and Hard disk and an connector which is not of Microsoft and when I am connecting it to my Xbox it detects it but asks me to perform certain steps to get the usb connector connected to it? I just want to know that is it possible to have a connection with an Third party Usb connector, if anyone has done it before just let me know that how to make it and how is it possible.

I don’t think you should use that cable. I would tell you that if you try to reconfigure your cable there would be an error in drive. Third party Connectors are not having an ability to have any transfer. Move necessary files on a USB stick and transfer to the new box and then just go to your download history to download the DLC. Also do not forget to make a transfer of license of your account. You may need to recover your account on the new Xbox to complete the license transfer.

I would to like to support this point you should not try to use this usb I think you should get the Microsoft connector this would solve your problem by that you can do this transferring process very easily and this would be required for many time so you would be using it often no worry of wasting money you should get the genuine thing which would help you a lot in many cases working out with different silly brands of USB can cause a serious problem in your XBOX so better use the genuine one.

Well there are two option for this transferring process one is you can surely use the XBOX 360 hard drive transfer cable and do this process very easily and comfortably and the other thing is you can simply connect a USB flash drive and transfer the file to the console if there is very little amount of data to share with, So still the point is with using a right product instead of anything what you wish to I would tell you do what your system supports not anything which can create a problem.

What’s the big deal to go with Xbox 360 Hard Drive Transfer Cable as it can be purchased online or from a local game retailer it has been a easily available product don’t have to be worried. Use only the Xbox 360 hard drive transfer cable to move your content. Microsoft does not license, support, or ensuring the operation of the cables from other manufacturers and they have been meant for the XBOX connectivity so I think they would be the better choice which would keep everything simple and smooth and the process would be fine.

I would only ask you that don't try to use any other USB they may not work properly because many of my friends have been trying many other USB but it dint work so i think using all other would be a waste of time and even if it would be working they would take lots of time and ll but if you use the Microsoft one this would save your time and make everything smoother so i think using it would be the better choice.
