    Final Fantasy XIV slow performance

Yesterday my brother brought for me game and I have read lots of guide about this game. I am really crazy for this game. Today when I play it first time on my system, it was working little bit slow as compare to my acceptation. my system configuration are :2.4 Ghz with Intel core i5 processor and 4GB RAM; Nvidia Geforce 330 GT graphics card. I have done my all setting to lower settings but still it was working slowly. Where is the problem? Is my system is not supportive to this system? please give me suggestion.

This game has some internal problem. I do not think so that you are doing wrong, problem is with game. This game use monster resource hog. This is the reason for delay performance on PC and PS3. I checked system configuration and its looks very fast. I am sure it can handle this game very easily. I will suggest try another but still if you want to play this, then reinstall it start again. I am sure it will be able to fix its corrupted patch due that you were getting slow performance.

Re: Final Fantasy XIV slow performance

Same is happening with me. I am also getting slow performance with my laptop. I am using macbook pro and me sure its performance is fair enough to handle this game. First problem which I am facing is graphics problem. It gets stuck in the middle of the game. My laptop is running with 4GB ram and having nvidia 9800 GTX graphic card. Second problem is with cursor which get hang or get slowed down. It makes entire process slow. It makes me to restart game but it did not help me. I have checked there are no settings to make it fast and quick. Please I really want to play this game on my system but I am completely hoping less. Is anybody here who is facing same problem and have found solution?

Re: Final Fantasy XIV slow performance

I have macbook pro with Intel core i5 processor. I am suing following setting to get better performance. Now I am getting 25-40 frames per second while previously I was with 15-20 frames per seconds. I have not seen any damage yet with these setting but I am not sure about your system. Because every system have different configuration. To run FSIXV beta properly make these setting with your games and system:
    1. Make you display mode in full screen.
    2. Set Multisampling to No AA
    3. Set windows Size to 1280x800
    4. Untick Ambient Occlusion
    5. Tick Disable Cut scene Effects
    6. Set Texture Filtering to Lowest
And these are thes which you have to make on you system:
    1. Set Character Shadows to OFF
    2. Set Extended Drawing to OFF
    3. Set Physics to OFF

If you want to increase game performance for nay game then I have some graphic card driver options which can be useful for you. This is very stable and never reacts like stranger, does not matter you are using overclocking at pretty high settings. This driver is also better when you are using Bootcamp to use windows OS. Here are the details about driver:
    1. Launched by: Nvidia
    2. Version: 259.47
    3. Microsoft WHQL certificate : yes
    4. OS: windows 7/ windows vista
    5. Setup files contained: yes
    6. Language: 28
    7. Launched date: 21/08/ 2010

Re: Final Fantasy XIV slow performance

I was suffering with same problem while my system was with little bit lower configuration. I read this thread and now everything is fine on my system. Thanks a lot, you helped me and also saved my money because my game DVD was waste because I was not able to use it. Before doing this setting on my laptop, FFXIV was very slow but after doing these setting it working fine. I have duo core and using 4870 nvidia graphic card, other configuration are slow but GPU settings are at high settings.
