Summer Athletics 2009 game lags while playing

Hello. i have a desktop machine and it is been installed with Windows 7 operating system. I have installed a game application to the system and it is Summer Athletics 2009. The problem is that the game lags when been executed. I do not know what could be the issue. Please do help me out to sort the problem. It would be a great help. Thank you.
