L4D - Coonect to Server

So i created an sever but cant connect to it, and it has no sv links in the list. (survival). i cant connect to it from the lobby either.

when i do connect (once) it says i cant add any cheats cause of im not the sever operator, which doesnt make since, when i can change difficulty and passwords.

Look at the console. Does it show a map is running? Generally, this only happens if you're attempting to connect to a person who's hosting the game directly from their computer AKA a "listen" server. Try checking your firewalls (mcaffee, windows, AVG) and see if it works better without them, make sure to turn them back on when your done.
