Jailbreak iPhone 3G with QuickPwn - Windows

Jailbreak the term is an operation to crack the phone to install any application on it. This operation can be considered as risky, so we must back up all data before you start (contacts, photos, notes, calendar ...).

    IPhone backup

To save all settings of your iPhone, just launch iTunes and connect your phone via USB cable. When it is detected, right click on the icon of the iPhone in the left menu of iTunes and select "Save". Note that this backup method is far from infallible. I've had problems in the past with corrupted backups, impossible to restore it later. Counsel, in addition manually save all you can (photos, contact lists, settings ...).

    Jailbreak iPhone

To ensure a good Jailbreak, I very strongly advise you to reinstall the original firmware of the iPhone, to have a phone with a new system without any installed application or other personal settings. This will avoid any kind of problems when handling. To do this, simply click the "Restore" button on the homepage of the iPhone in iTunes.
    1. Download the latest version of QuickPwn for Windows QuickPwn-225-2.zip
    2. Download the latest firmware for iPhone 3G (version 2.2): iPhone1, 2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw
    3. Connect your iPhone to your PC via USB cable
    4. Run the software QuickPwn
    5. This will automatically detect your phone and firmware version used. Click the Browse button and select the firmware file (the file with the extension. Ipsw) you downloaded earlier.
    6. Select the options you want. You should know that the software can Cydia and Installer to Jailbreak applications thereafter. It is therefore logical to activate them. The option "Replace Boot Loader" allows it to display on a pineapple instead of apple at startup of the iPhone, this option was therefore useless.
    7. The software QuickPwn will ask you to take the iPhone into DFU mode. It will therefore follow the steps listed on the screen in the display order. Once this is done, your iPhone should display multiple screens with a pineapple and a bar indicating that the Jailbreak download is under progress.
    8. Your Jailbroken iPhone is finally. The system should reboot automatically (you must wait several minutes) and you can then use Cydia to install any application.

Restoring the settings of the iPhone

If you followed my advice and you have chosen to reinstall a brand new firmware before the jailbreak, you now have a mobile cracked but no configuration setting. You can choose to restore your last backup to recover all of your contacts and other configurations. To do this, simply right click on iPhone in iTunes and choose restore from a backup.

    Ssh to the iPhone

You can now connect via ssh to your iPhone. Note that it is important to change the default password to ensure that nobody else will connect it. The default password of root account jailbreak an iPhone is alpine. Warning: for the ssh connection is working, the phone must be in active mode and not in sleep (which corresponds to the phone on but with a black screen). Here is an example command to use ssh to log in and change the password (the IP address of the phone is 192.168.1.101, this information is available in the wifi settings):
    Code:
    $ Ssh [email protected]
    iPhone: ~ root #
To change the root password, run the command:
    Code:
    passwd
To change the password for the mobile account, run the command:
    Code:
    passwd mobile

What to do when the iPhone gets stuck on the apple or pineapple

The iPhone may get stuck on the apple or pineapple to restart when a jailbreak goes wrong. The phone will be useless and begins to vibrate from time to time. The only solution is to restore the iPhone to its original state. Here are the steps to do this:
    1. Wait for your iPhone crashes on pineapple or apple
    2. Then press the Home button simultaneously and Start until the iPhone restarts
    3. Upon reboot, press once (this is important because if you wait too long it does not work because the iPhone locks out again) about Home and Start both
    4. The iPhone must then go into recovery mode. We should see an image of a USB cable to connect to iTunes and then a picture.
    5. Launch iTunes, then suggest that you restore the original settings
