    Overclocking the 780G/HD3200

Here are the results of 3DMark06 various configurations. I ran the benchmark once for each parameter, so do not forget that 3DMark scores can vary a bit. In performance, the HD3200 seems to be limited by the speed of the memory. Gigabyte does not implement the optional memory to dedicate HD3200. To boost performance, increase the clock using HyperTransport and memory yields faster performance gains out. Since I am using an AM2 processor, the default 1GHz HT. This motherboard is an AM2 + supports HT3, and at 2.6GHz when using a Phenom processor. I am a little surprised my GPU could not run stable at 700MHz. Most reports have been able to do 900 MHz overclocked to 1200MHz and even. This is what I have tried for Overclocking the 780G/HD3200. If you have any further problem related to this you are free to ask question.

First of all I must say that it is a nice on board chip. I wonder that the sweetspot is for the VRAM (Video RAM) for that chip for the purpose of the HD playback. I seems to look like in terms of the VRAM for the 3dMark is 128mb. But I am worried about one thing that it if do the same setting which you have done system will become very hot.

Well I have provided the chart according to that the GPU need over 64 megabyte for 1280x1024 3DMark06. After that I will level off. I am sure it is safe to say that there is no performance difference for 128, 256, or 512 megabytes at the resolution. I am not advising you to run the 3DMark at higher resolutions but you can run it with the resolution of 128MB or 256 megabyte safely.

I just done and basic 3DMark with Phenom 9500 at stock clocks and 1.8 gigahertz HT link and 4 (2x2) gigabyte of DDR2-800 and I am getting 1297 3DMarks. Now I am going to give it a reboot, and going to experiment with few things and I will check how far it can perform good. I am doing this on Vista Premium 64. I hope that everything will go smoothly.

    Re: Overclocking the 780G/HD3200

There have been many rumors circulating in various Internet forums about the current intensification of the A12 AMD 780G chipset and if it works correctly with Phenom processors 9150e/9100e ahead. The controversy concerns a story earlier that HT 780G not working in 2.0 mode instead of native HT 3.0 mode when a Phenom 9150th or 9100th is installed. If any body has the related reply to this then I need to know more further information about it.

    Re: Overclocking the 780G/HD3200

This statement is partly true. Installing anyone of the processor will cause current A12 boards to downclock to HT 2.0 at 1GHz speeds. Although this is not a favorable setting, considering how well the HD3200 (RV610+) integrated graphics engine works with HT 3.0. The user can go into the BIOS, and can manually set HT speed to 1.6GHz, and the 9150e or 9100e will operate in HT 3.0 mode. Not a graceful solution, but one that works fine with current 780G boards. The upcoming A13 version will automatically change to HT 3.0 at 1.6GHz.
