website password hacked via firezilla

This is very sad news for me that in this week 3 of my websites have been hacked. When I downloaded filezilla which stores my passwords in ftp program I came to know about this. Can someone suggest me what should I do to ensure that this thing does not happen again in future. I am using the latest version of filezilla. It leaves the passwords on disk for every site in the Site Manager. If you have never stored any password in the program, it stores the last password you type when logging in.

I will suggest you to do not store your passwords. In the filezilla settings there is an option in which you can disable the passwords storing. There might be some issue in network configuration in FTP connection.

You should change the filezilla settings from your computer. Check whether everything is right or not. If you checked it properly and you do not find any issue with it there might be possibility that your computer is affected by malware. I think you do not check the daily updates and install softwares from untrusted websites. You should disabling the settings of saving passwords in the settings dialog of FileZilla.

Passwords do not store using an encryption method which depends on a unique key to decrypt. They want key that will be required on each log in page which is eventually not stored anywhere. Hence, users who have a hard-to-remember passwords are unable to change the remote password from a value they have difficulty remembering their original passwords.

you should use software like KeePass which is an open source password manager. In this passwords can be stored securely in encrypted databases which can be eventually unlocked with the master password which will be allotted to you earlier. If you use your account through an administrator profile it will be unable to prevent because it contains malware in your system.
