Coming from Windows, and we chatted mostly with Windows, using mainly servers irc , definitely try some software that allows the same possibilities of machine, which possibly has the same graphical interface software irc chat longer used: Mirc . The software in question is called MacIrssi, and fully respecting the graphical Mirc . It 'very light, does not support data transfer via xdcc , and is simple to use. Basically it is a software for those who simply want to chat to the old way as you do with Mirc , without too many complications or functions too.

Colloquy IRC client could _The_ for OS X may be - GUI and functions are very good, but: because the program CPU is not in a comprehensible manner. At first everything seems ok, then, with things like scrolling through a chat window, when calling the Preferences change a style, jumping, etc. The CPU load (according to Activity Monitor) on time, 100% (Core Duo), effectively drives Colloquy alone, the temperature of the Intel Mac in an unacceptable way to the top.

If you surf a different operating system you can easily connect to the same IRC network using the appropriate client. Listed below are links to download the popular clients for other operating systems. Have you tried the Ircle Client for Mac? Use IRC all the time. Mainly for questions about programming issues that require a quick response. Especially when 2 am and cannot find documentation to solve a problem. IRC technology was invented more than 20 years and is still used, though a very small group of people, when compared with that has access to the internet. After a little searching I discovered Linkinus . This is the best IRC client on any platform. After using this client does not want to chat with nothing.
