After returning from hibernation, fonts of Mozilla Firefox 4 gets messed up.

Hi I have been using Mozilla Firefox from a while now. Till recently it was working fine but from yesterday it has started behaving little strangely. It works perfectly fine, without much trouble whenever I start up the Firefox 4. But when my computer returns from Hibernate mode, the fonts of Mozilla Firefox 4 gets very messed up and it is near to impossible to read and understand them. I am unable to find out what must be causing this problem. If anyone knows how to solve this issue, then please suggests me your solutions.

As the problem started all of a sudden, it seems that your system is under some virus, malware or Trojan attack. You need to check it as soon as possible by performing a full system scan. If detected then it is better you get rid of them as early as possible, or they may end up corrupting more files and even the system files. And if system files got corrupted then probably you will be forced to perform reinstallation of your Operating System. Please remember to always keep your antivirus updated so that your system remains protected from the new viruses. Also make it a habit to keep performing complete scan of your system every now and then.

It is possible that there is some problem with the Mozilla Firefox 4. Check whether the problem exists when you are using other web browsers like the Google Chrome or the Internet Explorer. Probably there must be some problem with your Mozilla Firefox 4 installed files. You should uninstalled the current files and reinstall it and then check out if the problem still exists or not. I would suggest you to download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox 4 from the official website of Mozilla and install that file. By doing so, you will eliminate the chances of installing any corrupt file.

Thanks for your posts friends but sorry to say they did not helped me. I make sure that my antivirus is updated and perform full system scan after periodic interval of time. But luckily this time also I did not detect any sort of virus or malware in my system. I even uninstalled the Mozilla Firefox 4 from my system and downloaded the latest one from Mozilla website. Installed it again and unfortunately the problem still exist. This thing is really irritating me now. Now I am having second taught of uninstalling it permanently and use other browsers. Still I hope to get some better solutions that will work for me. Thanks in advance. Please help.

The best solution in my taught will be to disable the hibernation mode, so that the cause of your problem will be removed permanently. But always make sure that you are performing the action after logging into the Administrator account.
To disable Hibernate mode in Windows XP follow these steps:
    • Go to the windows properties by right-clicking on the desktop window and selecting the “Properties” option.
    • Click on the Screen Saver tab of the Display properties window.
    • Click on the Power settings button, which you will find in the Monitor power section.
    • Now the Power Option Properties window will appear
    • Select the Hibernate tab and uncheck the enabled hibernation check box.
    • Finally Click on Apply and then on OK.
    • Restart your system.

To disable Hibernate mode in Windows Vista follow these steps:
    • Click on the Start button on the bottom left side of the window screen.
    • To start the command prompt you should type "cmd" in the text field of the Search option.
    • Right click on the cmd and when it is prompted to select the user, select “Run as Administrator”.
    • Click on continue button when User Account Control window appears.
    • Type "powercfg.exe /hibernate off" or "powercfg.exe -h off" on the command prompt and hit Enter key.
    • Type exit and then press ENTER to terminate the cmd window.

I also faced this problem a while back and was able to solve it by performing the following action.
    • Start your Mozilla Firefox 4 browser and go to “Tools” in the menu bar.
    • Select Options from the drop down list which appears on clicking Tools.
    • From the Options window select Content tab.
    • Click the Advanced button of Fonts & Colors menu.
    • Change the Default Character Encoding to Western (ISO-8859-1) in the Character encoding.
    • If the Character encoding is already set to that, then you should uncheck the option "Allow pages to change their own fonts...etc".
    • Finally click on Apply and then on OK button.
