Ctrl+Enter shortcut not working in Mozilla Firefox 4

I have been using Mozilla Firefox 4 without any trouble from last few weeks. But today morning I faced this weird problem. I have the habit of writing the name of the site in the URL field and using Ctrl+Enter shortcut to visit the site. I am unable to understand what must have caused this problem. I know this is not a big issue but still it is bothering me a lot. Anyone with any information regarding the topic, please help me and give me some solution to solve it. Suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I would like know whether you scan your system time to time? Is your antivirus updated? I would suggest you to update your antivirus. If you don’t use any then please download and install any antivirus but the latest updated version. You can search for the same on Internet. Many free antiviruses like Avast, AVG works great. After installing the Antivirus perform complete scan of your system and check for the presence of virus or malware or any Trojan in your system. There is a strong possibility that you must have got attacked by virus in recent times, which must have attacked your Mozilla Firefox 4 installed files or any other files in your system.

You must try to update the current Mozilla Firefox you have already installed in your system. There can be chances that new updates are available for the Mozilla and you must have not installed it, and that is why this entire problem started occurring from nowhere. If you are unable to update the current Mozilla Firefox 4 then you must download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox 4 from the official website of Mozilla and install it in your system. Then check out whether the problem still exists or not. This all will probably solve your problem.

Thank you guys, for your quick and genuine replies. But unfortunately they did not help me out in anyways. I always make sure that my antivirus is updated and do scanning of my system from time to time. I did it and nothing was found luckily. Later I even tried to download and install the latest available version of Mozilla Firefox 4, but it also did not help me. It seems like nothing is working for me. I am going insane now. If anybody is having any more suggestions then please help me. Thanks in advance.

I would suggest you to perform system restore. This is probably the best solution now, as the above two did not help you to get rid of your problem. Make sure you back up your files before you perform system restore, because once you do the system restore all your saved settings and files done after the date of restoration will be lost. You can perform system restore by navigating to the following path:
For Windows XP and Windows Vista: Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Restore. Now choose a system restore point and click next to perform the system restore. You should Restart your system whenever it is recommended.

I had also faced this problem few days back. It seems like some automatic update have created this glitch. I was facing this ctrl+enter problem along with some other also. I was not even able to open my bookmarks/history page in the new tab by using alt-enter. But it was working for search. I searched about this matter a lot at Internet and finally found a good solution. You just have to disable the extension called “Omnibar”. It was the main reason behind the problem. I disable it and it worked for me. Now everything is back to normal.
