It's much recovered to correctly uninstall Internet Explorer 9 instead of doing System Restore. What you can actually do it you can then go to Control Panel then after that Programs and features , there you will find View installed updates. Search Windows Internet Explorer 9 in the list and uninstall it. This is the most simple technique in order to resolve the issue and you can safely remove the browser that you do not need .

When you are in Programs and Features check out if there is ‘View installed updates’ view?If you are at the screen that says “everything else except IE 9” as the programs installed on your computer , you are not in the right view to uninstall Internet Explorer 9. On the left hand portion of the window you ought to see View installed updates which will then display the updates that have been installed on your system. Windows Internet Explorer 9 will be shown there to be uninstall.

If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7 on your system, you can install the Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate (RC) to substitute your existing edition of Internet Explorer. Once you have uninstalled Internet Explorer 9, you can uninstall it to restore the formerly installed edition of Internet Explorer.
    To uninstall Internet Explorer
    • The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
    • Click the Start button , type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.
    • Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.
    • Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.
    • Click one of the following:
      • o Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer).
      • o Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer).
