Pressing on M3U link in IE7 or IE8 not able to play with Windows Media Player

When in my windows XP laptop, when pressing on an M3U file would launch the Media Player as well as begin *streaming* the MP3. however in windows Vista plus Windows 7 (ie: Internet Explorer 7 or 8), pressing on the similar link merely pops up a file download window inquiring if I would like to save this file. How do I find it to perform what it did in windows XP as well as just stream the MP3? Windows Media Player is really set as the default player for the M3U file type -- I checked.

The Media Player perfectly is supposed to be launched while you open the M3U file. When you obtain a choice to save the file, save the file. Once you have the file saved, right press on the file as well as press on Properties. In the choice Opens with choose Media Player as well as check the box that states ‘Always Open with’. I did attempt to open the Test file that you have uploaded as well as it appears to be functioning well with Internet Explorer 7. This might be a problem related to File Association.

You be able to check in Internet options if "play sound in WebPages choice is chosen". You have to go to Internet options after that Advanced and then multimedia and after that play sound in WebPages. You have to check if it works well in 'Safe Mode with Networking'. Along with that you can try Reset Internet Explorer Settings from Control Panel. I also advise that you run a System File Checker Tool on your PC to verify if the file system is intact.

The ‘.m3u’ files are a metafile playlist that references .mp3 files as well as gives extra metadata for the things in the playlist. This is a maintained File Format for Media Player 12 on Windows 7 as well as Media Player will reference to the MP3 file as well as be supposed to play the Internet Files. This is not a insect. So, help me recognize your problem. Please provide me the error message you obtain while you attempt to play the files as well as the website from where you are attempting to stream the MP3 files.
