zero average visit time reports by webtrends

I am confused on what follows in several reports of WebTrends. My basic trouble centers on the duration of the visit. I recognize the need to average compared to the median - all good. What I am puzzled regarding the inclusion of so-called zero length visits. I do not understand! What are they - and what is the value in them, counting some reports of WebTrends (visitor trends) as well as others (visit summary)? I checked the knowledge base NetIQ - however clear as mud to me.Thanks for any assist!

What exact report encloses statistics of visits to zero length? There are 3 or else 4 different flavors of the period of the visit of the reports of the WRC-WT.If this is the "number of visits per page views" of the report, plus you are referring to the line that illustrates 0 page views, in that case you're looking at the activity for which no real events SITES. Such as, if someone shows the site of one of the images by means of a link to your server, after that view this page on the site which is not successful image file on your server, resulting in a visit "zero pages. Or if somebody has a web link to a pdf file to download an executable file or in your room, plus PDF and EXE files are defined (in webTrends) and not "pages.”

I'm not 100% certain regarding this however another explanation could be when a tour includes only 1 page views. WebTrends determines the duration of the session to watch the first application and the last request. There is possibilities that the single application could result of an inspection of zero length.

Zero page visits refer not to the success of a valid HTML page or else script. This incorporates GIF, JPG, and so on afterward I believe CMR refers to those in their reports. In determining the actual visits to my clients who always have the total number of visits and less the number of effective hits. Often, the figures can be extremely interesting, particularly. If you have any banners, images that show search results from Google Images, and so on. Thus, the advantages in some reports (and I do not desire to WRC this writing) is expected to show trends in these visits - such as, a marketing campaign which clearly wants to show visits to decide banner impressions. As for documentation, I have the same opinion, WebTrends documents are relatively good at explaining the product display on the screen, but beyond that, it's trial and error to a user!

To be truthful I am not so concerned in this number. I did not understand are long session times good or else bad? A long session may possibly be a consequence of the client not being capable to get the information he requires - or else a end result of the user finding the information on the website precious. You do not know it’s not possible to conclude (approximately) something depended on visit length. And if you cannot make any conclusion after that why worry looking at the numbers. As an alternative I would focus my power on single page visits as- this gives me a much superior picture on my capability to "catch" the users.
