    Command Line Interface email client

I have been using mutt for a hardly a few months currently. Some days before I tried to setup my “hushmail” account to it. I could not make it work fine with “hushmail” so I toggled to “msmtp” as SMTP client. I am interested to know what your preferred CLI email client is. Because I tried many but any of that are not useful for me or you can say not suited to me. Can anyone of you as well specify your entire setup like mutt + msmtp and if it can work with numerous accounts well. Please provide some help….

I am not understood that why do you have Pine and Alpine as two dissimilar alternatives? They are in essence the similar. The only command line email client I have always used is Alpine. It does the work well sufficient for me, so I have had no cause to make use of another. I am using Alpine with getmail earlier than, I was using it with Fetchmail and Sendmail.

Mutt + msmtp + Fetchmail + procmail; later than reading few how to’s did not have any problems setting it up for various accounts. I too have fairly a few entries in ~/.mailcap to handle a variety of file types in the email. I remember using Pine in the middle of 1990's, but I have not used it in recent times.

I am ascertaining the benefits of using CLI approximately only. Are not there anymore users who utilize CLI email? I used to arrange or configure all the software on every my boxes accurately. Now I don't have to. I just remain the main box configured as I desire it to be. And yes, I really like mutt. I utilize mutt + msmtp + getmail and I have it setup to seem at a next email account using an imap configuration. I attempted to using emacs, but I did not look to like it.

I have some solution for you which may be useful for you and it also use to get knowledge. “MS Outlook” and “Thunderbird” are certain the two most admired or popular email clients which Netizens use nowadays. But if you are in GNU or if you are in Linux platform, here is one more client whom you can attempt Of course you can utilize this in Microsoft platform too, later than performing some alteration. While installing the solution, it will execute some of the configuration automatically like Postfix.

I just want to give you some hind about Why Command line? The reason is fairly clear. Command line provides you additional power. For instance, you interfere with all the configuration precise tasks earlier than your send a mail. You can simply configure and insert your PGP sign using Mutt. As well, by enabling this feature you can avoid unauthorized users from sending emails. If you go away your laptop unattended and you have MS outlook running, then anybody close to the system can access your inbox and send emails into the your account.
