Unable to connect to your IMAP server. . . problem

Hi i am using Thunderbird 2.0.0.17 and i have set up four IMAP account. But when i try to open the Thunderbird i keep on getting the following error message."Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded the maximum number of connections to this server. If so, use the Advanced IMAP Server Settings dialogue to reduce the number of cached connections." I have reduce the no of connection to 3 even then i got the same error message. Is there is any way to get it solve or i should decrease the number of connection per account to 1?

Before giving further information i would like to ask something to you. Do you installed a new version of Thunderbird and it is working well previously and now having problem? Do you have updated any software? Which security software are you using? Is this you are using for corporate e-mail system? Do you have made any hardware or software changes such as adding themes, anti-virus, updates to soft?

Re: Unable to connect to your IMAP server. . . problem

I have installed a new version of Thunderbird and it is working fine. But from last week i am having this connection problem. Previously i had solved the problm by reducing cache no in Server setting ->advance. No themes are installed. I have updated to Firefox 3 from Firefox 2. I have not made any changes in hardware, using same pc. I am using windows 7.

Re: Unable to connect to your IMAP server. . . problem

As you mentioned that your download speed is 90kbs and your upload speed is 978kbs. Normally the download speed is more then upload speed. As you are using 3G HSDPA connection, normally HSDPA's download speed is of 1.8,3.6,7.2. But you speed is too slow then DSL connection. I would suggest you to not use IMAP service until you have a broadband connection. So see to it this might be causing you problem when making connection.

Re: Unable to connect to your IMAP server. . . problem

I got the solution the problem i am facing is because of mine. I have copied the Thunderbird data from Document and setting from old drive to C drive Document and setting. I had installed it on old drive and used different username for Windows user and computer user. That's why making confusion for new installation of Thunderbird. But thanks for your valuable suggestion. Hope this will help someone if have made same mistake like me.
