Firefox Process does not shut down

I am using Windows Vista on my laptop and have installed Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.16. My laptop is Toshiba Satellite L305 with the wireless internet. Even though Wireless status says "connected to local and internet", Firefox is not able to connect me with any websites. IE do not show any problem for opening the same website. Now when i am closing Firefox and the restart it then it shows me the message that it is already running but Task Manager does not show Firefox application but firefox.exe is still running. What is wrong with my Firefox here?

Re: Firefox Process does not shut down

Firefox is indeed quite slow, and is not immune to bugs. The message indicates that Firefox did not have time or could not close. Therefore there is still a process the binder in memory. To remove the process:
    1. Simultaneously press the three keys: Ctrl, Alt and Delete to open the Windows Task Manager.
    2. Go to the tab "Processes".
    3. Click on the column "Image Name" to arrange the names alphabetically.
    4. Select "firefox.exe".
    5. Press the button "End Process" to stop the selected process.
    6. Repeat step 4 if necessary.
    7. Firefox can now be restarted.

Where to download version 3.6 released today: You have to open Firefox (after stopping the process firefox.exe) then in the menu you click on "?" > Select "search for updates". And when "Firefox 3.6" will appear> Click on download and follow instructions on the screen now you must restart Firefox to complete this update.

I have seen that this kind of issue comes with the Firefox so you should not bother about solving this errors. I suggest you to reinstall latest version of the Mozilla Firefox which is version 3.6. This browser does not have any problem regarding running an application. You can upgrade it from an official website of your Firefox.

There could be some virus on your Windows system which might be disturbing your windows version to terminate the programs. I suggest you to scan your whole computer system and then remove all the viruses if there are any. You can use an Avast anti virus which i guess the best one to secure the windows machines.

Some modules appear incompatible with this new version. But i have provided the solution as follows. After installing Firefox 3.6 -> Open Firefox -> Just install the extension magic for compatibility Once installed then go to Farm Firefox -> Open again (after stopping the process) -> Click on Tools> Add-ons -> Select a module "which appears inconsistent" -> Right Click> Select "make compatible" (It must be done for each module declared incompatible). Then restart Firefox to make those updates -> These modules work perfectly with the new version.

    1) downloaded and installed CCleaner
    2) exit Firefox and expects it to be truly moved, if necessary assure you of this in the task manager has tab process. (Forces eventually to leave the process by forcing a firefos.exe close)
    3) launch CCleaner and makes an analysis and a thorough cleaning
    4) restart your pc, this is not compulsory but advisable if Firefox then audited and released soon after his spots have been closed.
