Assuming, that every program needs a configuration and the first thing we have to say is that we kind of connection, so that we can make the most of our client torrent. In the patch panel, under "Port Used for incoming connections (connections Port of entry), enter a port number. The best are those who are above 10000. Or if you prefer you can use the figure shows the 17 590. Each Time Randomize Utorrent Port Start" (Making random port each time you start) This option is recommended to uncheck it.

i would suggest you to enable UPnP Port Mapping NAT-PMP Port Mapping If you do not know which is the port forwarding manually mark it. Add Windows Firewall excption (Add Utorrent to your firewall exceptions) Uncheck if your firewall is disabled, try disabling your firewall without using your Utorrent, because it literally is not a close friend of torrent clients, and simply will not increase its speed.

Enable the DHT Network (Network Enable DHT) It is strongly recommended to check this option, that if it improves speed. Encryption Protocol (Protocol encryption) This option is recommended if you choose to mark "Forced or Enable." This option can help increase the speed at many ISPs. Enable DHT for new torrents (Enable DHT for new torrents). Mark it. Enable Peer Exchange Mark it.

The Windows XP configuration for the maximum number of connections is 8, which is not optimal for a torrent client connection. The best way to increase the number of open connections is to increase the value of 8-50 or 60, but be careful not to put a number too high or too low because that would drastically speed Descending. We must also apply a patch to increase the default value (only in Windows XP SP2), you need the patch can be downloaded from here , this patch will increase the number of open connections at the Operating System.

Download TCP Optimizer which is a freeware utility, check "Optimal settings" and configure the optimal settings for your internet settings. If you use a firewall, you must go to Preferences, or Settings and look for the option "permitted list" or "Programs." Then there add your Utorrent or torrent client you are using, and save the changes. And ready. For example, in Windows Firewall, you can add an exception to their torrent client.

It might be something related to the configuration of your p2p. You can not always reach the top in ascent depends on the torrent and the number of seed sources and you have, etc. If all the above steps does not resolve this problem then simply i would suggest you to reinstall the application once.
