    Hello there,

I have some knowledge about the first topic that you have asked for, that is Texture Resolutions.

This is actually a concept about how the things are viewed in the camera. This is basically the low and high textures for the things. The textures can be like 2k, 8k and so on. Talking about Render Resolutions, the things are to be of more than 2k. This is the only difference between Texture Resolutions and Render Resolutions.

Re: Help Required: Texturing for CGI Film

The main softwares that are used for the purpose of Texturing for CGI Film are Photoshop and Bodypaint. I have searched on the web for the same and found out that these are the 2 softwares commonly used. It has also to be noted that there are people who create or develop their own tools for texturing. The people who are interested in this field must have a go through the colourspace also.

In the case of the method of UVW unwrapping, one must remember that it is not quite related to the texturing for CGI Film. It is actually a work that is related to the work of modelling. UVW means the use of 3D co-ordinates, where as now-a-days, the artists are working with the templates that are in 2D. Also, the softwares used are different from the ones that are used in texturing. These include Headus UVLayout.

According to me, in texturing for CGI Film, the problem of colourspace is to given a great importance as mentioned in one of the above posts by Techguru01. But, this is not related anywhere to developing games. The ones who want to concentrate in films are to be aware of this fact. The changes that take place in color is of great point to the artists.
    Wish you all the best.
