How to Change default email address in OE6

Before removing Comcast as my email address such as [[email protected]] and switched to [[email protected]]. I can send the URL link by clicking File/Send and entering in the address box. I found that the message is being transmitted by way of my OE.

Would you all help me that how I change the OE settings to make OE treat my new Yahoo account as my default setting?

I don't think, it can be done but if you would go for some application level changes then you can do it.

You cannot change that. But you can change what happens when you click Create Mail while in your Local Folders Inbox. Or what address contained within the From: field by default when you click on an email address on a web site. You can change the default account.

To configure an email account the default in Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail or Outlook Express, you have to follow the steps below that can help you to find your way..:

• Select Tools and then Accounts from the menu control.
• From Windows Mail and Outlook Express, move to the Mail tab.
• Highlight the needed account that you wanted to change.
• Click Set as Default.
• Then click on Close to get exit.

You need to try this one and I think would be helpful for you :

• Click on start menu and choose control panel.
• Select Add/Remove programs from the Control Panel .
• Select Internet Explorer.
• And choose repair option.

It can solve your issue but in case if it can't do that then try to run some spyware utility and figured if maybe one of those messed with the configuration.

A configuration made in email service providers should not change the sending of a hyperlink. Did something configured in OE as the "Default" email program?

In addition to the way explained in jdc2000's link, there are some other method to be confirm that OE is default. Using them all does not hurt. OE Tools=>Options=>one of the tabs allows you to set the default. Working with IE6/7 you could also go for IE Tools=>Internet Options=>Programs tab and then set the default email program.
