How to setup search suggestion in firefox

I have found that the search suggestion in some sites are not working properly. Like how google gives a drop down box in the search box and gives out some suggestions. Can I configure them by my ownself. And other thing is that sometime the browser works extremely slow. I am not able to work on it and then I have to restart the entire system. How to setup search suggestion in firefox.

If you want to know weather it is a problem cause by the addons then you have to make your browser at the safe mode. Do the same process which you have done to clear the history. Select the firefox at the safe mode by going to the run option. Then select Continue in Safe Mode. And test the problem.
