You are having the two computer systems at your home. One is the older and the another is the new one and you want to transfer the data stored on the hard disk of the older computer system to the hard disk of the new computer system. There are many ways available for you by which you can do it. But this depends on the capacity of the data you want to transfer from one computer to the another computer system. Choose the transferring the medium according to the Data storage you want to transfer.

If you are having the less data to be transferred from the one computer system to the another then you can use the DVDs for this purpose. The DVDs can store upto the 4.7GB of the data at once. If you want to transfer the data little bit more than this than you can use the Rewritable DVDs. So use this option if you are having the data around the 10GBs to be transferred from one PC to another PC.

If you are having data more than the 10GBs to be transferred from one computer system to the another computer system. Then i think you should use the PEN Drives for this purpose. There are Pen Drives available in the market from 4GB and goes till the 32GB and 64GB capacity. So buy according to your needs and then transfer the data from your old computer to the new computer system. This reduces your work and more importantly the time consumption that will be wasted in burning the DVDs.

IF you want to transfer all the data stored on the computer system to the new computer system then the Pen drive will be little time consuming. So i think you should buy the Portable hard disk drive for this purpose. There are 160GB , 250GB and 320GB and more capacity portable HDD are available in the market. Purchase anyone of these according to your needs. After that start the data transfer. You can do the data transfer at one time rather than copy pasting the data many times using the Pen Drive.

There is the simplest way is available for the data trans from one PC to another without buying any Pen Drive and the portable HDD. Do not take tension of the of burning the DVDs again and again for transferring the data. You can do this easily without any problem using the LAN Card. If you are having the LAN Card installed in both the computers then connect both the computers using the LAN Cable. Change the IP addresses of both the computers (For eg 192.168.1.2 and for the second one 192.168.1.2). Turn on the sharing and security of the Drive on the hard disk, The data you want to transfer. Go to the Network connection. There you can see the files and folders shared on the LAN you have configured. Copy the folder and files and paste them on the hard disk of the new computer system.
