Limewire not accessible on Windows 7

I was earlier using Windows Vista along with 512MB DDR2 RAM and Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Lately I have upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 operating system. I also added another 2GB DDR2 RAM so that my new Windows 7 gives the best performance. But when I downloaded Lime-wire it was done successfully. Latter I have not been able to download videos and even music files from Lime-wire. If that was not all, from the last two days my Lime-wire is not accessible at all. What is the problem ?

Limewire is a Java based peer-to-peer program. If you are unable to run Limewire or Limewire does not opens at all, there are chances that but any instance your Java Runtime was un-installed. Check that the Java Run-time is present or not. There is no issue of Windows 7 not letting Limewire to run as I am also using the same operating system and Limewire is running very well for me.

I also faced a similar kind of issue. I was using Limewire for over a year and one fine day I was not able to open and and access Limewire. I did not knew what the problem was as it was working well for over a year. I then realized that the Java Runtime was deleted. I downloaded it again and I was able to use my Limewire ones again. I would suggest you to download Java Runtime and fix the problem.

Verify your LAN(Local Are Network) connecntion is proper or not. If you are not able to download any files from Limewire there are chances that the LAN connectivity is either slow or is down. Contact your LAN provider to check if there are any problems with the LAN. Check whether you are able to browse some websites if not then your LAN is down, if your are able to browse then try to re-install Limewire.

I'm having the same issues with not being able to connect to limewire. even when i turn the firewall off it still doesn't work and my java is running and my internet connection is up to speed. Could it be that my university is blocking it? I can download some files but its very limited... The little "connecting..." thing at the bottom corner of the limewire keeps sassing me.
