Need some tips on getter a better PR and SERP

Hi,
I am studying about Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I came across two terms called Page ranking (PR) and Search engine results page (SERP). Now I need some tips and suggestion which can applied to improve both PR and SERP of a website. What are the most recent practices done today. Any site needs to follow this items in order to get good traffic on the internet. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There are multiple ways by which you increase your sites PR and SERP. The first way is to target the most frequently searched keywords. This keywords will give you a great traffic diverted to your site. You can put up better columns and add rich content to get a good PR. Second way is to get a user friendly website. The site much have a friendly look with most easy to use features. Content is needed on the site. If you do not have a good quality content then visitor will not fallback to your site. You site will be indexed more frequently by the search engine to due rich and large amount of content.

You can try to build up back links for your site. This will give you high PR. First you can use a link building technique. Under this you can leave the link of your site on different popular sites. But better sign up a contract for the same or contact the web owner. Otherwise you will be recognized as spammer and banned. Second thing use the RSS feed tool. Leave your feed on various sites. You can also get a paid service for links submissions. It is much better if you put your links on authorized back links like edu, gov, org, tec.

Social bookmarking site is a better option for boosting traffic on your site which in turn will improve your PR. Secondly the best thing I will recommend you to keep on adding new content on your site. Everyday new thing are developed and posted on net. If you have old contents then your site will stay behind. A library of good and vast amount of content will help your site to appear more frequently. Provide some free news, articles, download, etc.
