How to fix Yahoo problem in Pidgin

I have a Ubuntu PC in which I am running Pidgin with Yahoo. From couple of days I am facing a issue in the tool. The connection with yahoo server is terminating continuously. What can be the problem here. I had now downloaded again the Pidgin Messenger. After installing it back again it is still not working. Now the error comes out denoting not able to connect to the server. How to resolve this issue out. This now very frequently. Thanks in advance.

This is problem from Yahoo side. The Yahoo sever had blocked the IM users of Linux based system. Pidgin is one from it. It is not a ISP issue. Re-installation will not work here. Here what has happened, Yahoo had made some changes in the login method. Due to which you are unable to connect. To fix up the problem open Pidgin > Accounts > Manage Accounts. The click on the Yahoo Account and click on Modify button. Click on Advance tab and then add cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com in the pager server box. Click on Save button.

The problem is between both Yahoo and Pidgin. You can try to replace the server and then set up your account back again. Like by adding up 66.163.181.186 can make that thin work. Also try to connect to other if possible. Then just disable your Yahoo ID and then re-enable it back again to make the setting effective. If possible try to upgrade your PidGin version because the issue is common on some old applications versions.

If you are using Pidgin 2.5.7 then it will not work. Upgrade to the latest version. Yahoo server will not respond to this due to some changes in the connections, which Pidgin is unable to support. Several users are facing the similar issue in Pidgin as well as other Instant Messengers that is based on Linux Platform. Try to upgrade your Yahoo Messenger also. This can fix the issue out.
