Managing Yahoo Updates in Instant Messenger

Hi,, as i said before also I am new to internet surfing i have query about Yahoo Updates. First of all i thank you for the help you have done for me. Now i wanted to know how can i manage my Yahoo updates all from the Instant Messenger? i am using Yahoo Messenger 9. Thanks in advance.

There are many ways you can manage your Yahoo updates. Here is how:-

• Sign in With your ID and password.
• From the "Messenger" menu, select Manage Updates I Broadcast.
• The check box is selected by default for the Share my Updates option. If you don't want to share all of your Updates, you can modify these settings to control what you share.

Or

• From the "Messenger" menu, select Privacy Options and the Yahoo! Messenger Preferences window will open.
• Click Manage the Updates that I Broadcast at the bottom of the window.
• To block all Updates:
  
  • Clear the check box option for Share My Updates.
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save.

Hey, thanks for making me know about the blocking or not sharing process. I have seen many guys that turn off display of Yahoo! Updates from other people. How to do that ? help appreciated.

To turn off updates from a particular person just follow these simple steps:-

• From the "Messenger" menu, select Preferences, and the " Yahoo! Messenger Preferences" window will open.
  
  
• Under "Category" on the left, click Yahoo! Updates and the Yahoo! Updates settings options will display on the right.
  
  
• Click the Customize Yahoo! Updates button, and the " Yahoo! Updates Options" window will open.
  
  
• Click to clear the check box next to the person's name under "Show Y! Updates from these contacts."
  
  
• Click OK. You will be returned to the " Yahoo! Messenger Preferences" window displaying the Yahoo! Updates settings options.
  
  
• At the bottom of the window, click OK.
