How to Get Site Crawled by Google

    Hello everyone,

We just finished off the working with our new website. I've placed a few links from our company site to the new web site figuring that when the Googlebot comes to our company site, it will pick up the link to the new web site and then the new site will get crawled too. However in the log files of both sites Googlebot crawled our company site, but did not crawl the new site. Any clarification others may have would be nice.I wish to get the new site into Google as soon as possible, so if submitting directly to Google is the best and most efficient way, I have no problem doing that.

    thanks for any suggestions..

First answer is show some Patience.. google will crawl and update its db during its next visit. The rapid method to have a new page indexed is to append a direct link from a 'popular' page.means the website should visited by the bots almost daily so that the bots will be able to find the new page quickly with the help of this popular page.

My way to get my pages indexed quickly, which means with in 2 hours as far as for me.I like using articles to draw more traffic from the search engines.I also like to leave comments on blogs. I use Bloglines to follow a hundred or so blogs. When ever i search Google for a specific keyword phrase, after writing a post on that same topic, and comment on some of those blogs pointing them back to the internal page I created on my blog. The comment doesn't have to be nearly as long as an article I would publish on an article directory but it works great for getting more target traffic.

If you familiar with wordpress you may be aware of that within the wordpress admin panel you have the option to configure a “ping list”, and if you search google for “wordpress ping list” you’ll get thousands of pages all suggesting their list of ping sites to include in this list.
I have just 5 URLs (or services) in my ping list, and between them they can attract the much coveted googlebot to your site literally within a couple of hours at most. You need not go for massive ping lists that will slow your blog to a crawl. Check it out. Create a brand new blog, add these URLs in your ping list then make one new post on your blog with optimum quality and unique content. I use a WP plugin called Crawl Rate Tracker which will show up under the “Dashboard” within the WP admin panel. When you load it, it shows how many times each of the top three spiders (googlebot, yahooslurp and msnbot) have visited your site each day.

this are my list of ping URLs:

    http://rpc.pingomatic.com/
    http://api.my.yahoo.com/rss/ping
    http://blogsearch.google.com/ping/RPC2
    http://ping.feedburner.com
    http://rpc.technorati.com/rpc/ping
