Is textlink ads good for Google

I know that Text links are used to generate some good extra cash from a blog but I was just thinking that Is textlink ads good for Google ? Because according to Matt Cutts, an engineer of Google, “The best links are not paid, or exchanged….the best links are earned and given by choice.” when Google won’t recognize its own paid ad links as “authentic votes” would it reward other sites’ paid ad links? Have any suggestion for this ?

There is a big debate raging that Google will penalize sites buying and selling text links. Text links work! But since they are evidently a way to "game" the system, they could also be one of the key factors to de-value Google search out of its so far unchallenged dominant search position. But according to Matt Cutts, there are some way to make your paid links safe for search engines like Google and lists some text advertising services they are happy with. Normally Google use to ranks and organizes sites according to topics and relevance for each. But now a days, any one can make its way up on Google search engine result pages by purchasing relevant text-based keywords links on already highly-ranked sites. And this is the reason Google is now forced to change some of its rules and to crack down on text links sellers.

Text links are hyperlinked brief text descriptions that take on the characteristics of a publisher’s page. Publishers can place them in line with other text to better blend the ad and promote your product.Text link ads may indeed provide significant extra revenue to any web site with a PageRank of 6 or higher, but what very few independent publishers fail to understand is that by supporting text links they are breaking and cheating the very system that gives them sustainability. For example, you might see the following text link embedded in a publisher’s recommendatory text: “Widgets are fun! I encourage all my friends to Buy a high-quality widget today.” Though the maximum length of a text link is 90 characters, we’ve found that shorter links perform better because they allow the publisher use the link in more places on her/his site and in different context. The maximum length is 90 characters but less than 5 words is best. Even better, just use your brand name to offer maximum flexibility to the publisher.
