Why they ask me to choose your default browser?

Hi,
I use IE 6, Mozilla Firefox & Opera but i don't know why its is being asked me to choose a default browser?
Its really being an annoyance to me since Each time Mozilla asks me to choose your default browser.
Please help.

Well why they ask you to choose your default driver is a very simple question.
See by default windows have IE (Internet Explorer) as a web browser now when you click a link or say a hyperlink which takes you to the webpage online available then your operating system finds two or many programs suitable for this activity (to show that webpage) but It can not decide on its own which program in our case Browser to use since your system have Firefox & Opera too along with IE. Now to clear this confusion about the browser windows asks you to select your default browser.

If you set your specific browser the default it will helps to find the desktop toolbar quite handy for accessing shortcuts to websites as well as files and folders on the computer), but just wish it didn't behave that way!
