link loyalty program and POS

Hi,

I run the IT department for a chain of retail shops. I have a loyalty program and a different Point of sales software. I am not able to understand how to link these two software.

Any ideas how do traditional loyalty programs are linked with POS software ?

There are many loyalty programs that needs the the business to print thousands of plastic loyalty cards. So it simply means that the business should spend 100's or 1000's of dollars in upfront cost to launch their loyalty program. There are those called Check-in based loyalty programs that enables businesses to provide rewards programs at 10% of the cost of traditional, POS-based loyalty programs, but it usually depends on what you choose.

Thanks for your thoughts. Actually, we already have these two different software. Now, I am trying to link these different software. Any thoughts on that ?


For the check-in based programs, I like the idea but we have already incurred the costs so these might be supplementary.
