    What is Http 1.0 options

    Hi,
On my server log file I had noticed options http/1.0 200. I am not familiar with this term. What does this means. In every log file I had noticed the same. I had also noticed that the server respond with 200. Here there are many types of non standard request that are made after interval. And some return 404 error. So what can be the appropriate solution for this. Any suggestion would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can just try to change the Apache settings. Here the output of OPTIONS on the server is not so much concerned. You can simply try LogWatch tip. In this you can see the OPTIONS on the first place. It is not a non-standard type of request. And you need not to worry about the same. It is actually a method that provide access to the client which is help to determine the options or the needful which is associated with the resource.

OPTION is a particular type of method which is used to represent a request for the information and about the way of communication option which is available on the response which is traced by the requested url. This method is does get cached. It is a simple request function and not a major flaw. So just by fiddling around setting you can configure it.

If you face any problem because of this then there are possibilities that your browser does not support the new Http/1.1 standard. This is actually new standard which is used by many web browsers and web servers that can connect with each other. so here ther Http/1.1 needs a host filed that is used to described the address of site. If you facing a 404 error then it is better that you must upgrade your browser. IE 5.0 or greater is recommended.
