Development for Windows Mobile 6.1 PDA

I want a small project for a software ported to Windows Mobile. Currently, these parts are written in Java and it is clear to me that I am in C + + or C # for Windows Mobile needs to develop.

It is basically a wireless communication. which language would you recommend for this? The software should have been Visual Studio 2008 Professional range or a different version is recommended?

J2ME is not an alternative? Of course you can not directly access the hardware (but of course you can directly use sockets, etc.) and copy & paste from the application I think is also not reasonable.
