WSUS: install IE7 in silent mode without local admin

I have properly approved Internet Explorer 7 to my clients through WSUS 3 and the status shows that it is downloaded. But I want to know hot to get the clients that I am having to install Internet Explorer 7 in the background in silent mode, without the local admin rights? Thanks for any answers in advance.

Even we were facing same problem, so we followed some different solution. What we did is that, we used the Internet Explorer Administration Kit that can be get from here - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/bb219556.aspx - to create a branded Internet Explorer 7 .msi file that we pushed out via GPO "Software Installation".

I think that you both might had imported Internet Explorer 7 into WSUS from the Microsoft Update Catalog. So, although WSUS allows you to do this, but it doesnt guarantee that they will distribute properly, so you need to be sure to test such updates before approving them to clients.

I have heard that deploying Internet Explorer 7 with the newest revision from 12 Feb 2008 worked properly without local user admin on the test machine that I am using. Also, I guess that installing Internet Explorer 7 in silent mode within the entire network wont be an issue as well.
