How to troubleshoot Sandisk Cruzer
I have a SanDisk Cruzer micro 1gb usb drive and it was working fine untill day before yesterday when I plugged it in my computer and a message removable storage comes but when i click to open it there isnt anything in it, however I have stored some mp3 and some photos in it in the past. Afterwards if I try to save a file on it, an error message comes up "system cannot recognize specified file". So, I think that it is dying. But in any case can anyone please tell me how to troubleshoot Sandisk Cruzer? Thank you
Re: How to troubleshoot Sandisk Cruzer
Did you try to plug it in another computer? If the Sandisk Cruzer usb drive works then it might be your usb post issue but if it doesnt works then the usb drive might be broken. You can also see some suggestions given in similar type of threads: http://forums.techarena.in/xp-hardware/534400.htm

Re: How to troubleshoot Sandisk Cruzer
There is a problem in a chip you need contact nearest sandisk and claim the replacement warranty. You can also try to use the USB port at the back of your CPU direct to the motherboard. Do not use the front USB port, try to use also the another port if they are not functioning in other one.
Re: How to troubleshoot Sandisk Cruzer
Try shutting down the machine, plug the SanDisk in, boot. Hopefully its just a hardware detection glitch. If it was being written to when pulled out, you may have messed it up and need to reformat it. Otherwise try the reboot method.

Throw the cruzer in the trash...when it's all over.
